Charities

.

SAPHC members are proud to assist and contribute to these wonderful charities. The following is a quick description of what we have done to assist these wonderful organizations. Click on a link to get more in depth information about each.

Alzheimer's Association - Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's.  We'd like to see that happen as well. We do charitable events throughout to year to help meet that end.

Elf Louise Project - Is a project that provides Christmas presents for needy children in San Antonio. We look forward every Christmas to helping with the wrapping of thousands of gifts. Suiting up as Santa and Santa's helpers, plus distributing the wrapped gifts to their homes is a great heart warming experience for all whom participate.

San Antonio Food Bank - At several of our annual events we hold food drives to help the local agency provide food for the San Antonio area.

San Antonio Municipal Ministries - SAMMinistries is an interfaith ministry whose mission is to help the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless attain self-sufficiency by offering, with dignity and compassion, shelter, housing, and services. SAMMinistries also provides volunteers opportunities to be renewed and fulfilled as they serve.

Soldiers' Angels - We support our troops and their families through Soldiers' Angels. They aid and comfort the men, women and veterans of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard.

Adopt - A - Highway - On four occasions during the year we phlock to Eisenhower Park to clean-up our adopted two mile section of highway. This proudly adopted stretch begins on Military Hwy and 1604 and runs to Camp Bullis entrance at which point is the park. Dates and times will vary during the year.

Texas Chihuahua Rescue Organization  Although we are “Texas Chihuahua Rescue”, we take in several different small and toy breed dogs. Occasionally, even a large breed dog slips in and is named an honorary chi.  The need to save animals in South Texas is staggering. TXCR takes in the small, the blind, the deaf, the weak, the old, the pregnant, the abandoned, the abused the behaviorally challenged and of course, some of the cutest and best dogs anyone could ever ask for. We strive to be a part of our community and a part of the solution.   Although we are “Texas Chihuahua Rescue”, we take in several different small and toy breed dogs.
